Halloween Carnival Frequently Asked Questions

For those of you that are new to the Miramar Ranch Halloween Carnival, below you will find a list of Frequently Asked Questions regarding our annual Halloween Carnival. If you are not new to our the Halloween Carnival, thank you for your continued support of Miramar Ranch's biggest fundraiser and we look forward to working together again on this fun community tradition.

What: Miramar Ranch Halloween Carnival
When: Saturday, October 18 from 11am to 4pm
(Haunted House nights on Thursday, October 23 and Friday, October 24)
Where: Miramar Ranch Elementary School (10770 Red Cedar Drive)

What is a Game Booth? Miramar Ranch has over 28 carnival games including TP Toss, Graveyard Goodies, Lollipop Pull, Hockey Shot, Spill the Milk, and NEW games and booths including a Dunk Tank and more  Every game player receives a prize booth ticket or a consolation prize at each game. Games are appropriate and fun for all ages.

What is the Teacher’s Pet Shoppe? The Teacher’s Pet Shoppe is a raffle held the day of the carnival where a student has a unique opportunity to win some special time with his or her favorite teacher. Teachers choose an event to be raffled off (cookies after school, special lunch together, etc.). It can be an individual or a group event. The Teacher’s Pet Shoppe is always fun, creates special memories for the students and at the same time, raises money for our school. Teachers will draw a winner in their classrooms the week following the Halloween Carnival.  Look for special Teacher's Pet Shoppe prizes this year.

What is the Haunted House? The Haunted House is a 5th Grade fundraiser for their Promotion Fund. All the 5th graders are encouraged to participate in the planning and constructing of a Haunted House. The 5th graders then work the entire day of the carnival spooking the attendees of the Haunted House. All proceeds from the Haunted House go directly into the 5th grade fund.  The Haunted House will not be at the Halloween Carnival this year but will be showcasing their frights on Thursday, October 23 and Friday, October 24.

Community Service Volunteers: Our carnival uses as many as 100 community volunteers (not including MRE parents). It takes a village! Anyone who just loves to volunteer and help out in the community, we place them: Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Kiwanis! We need help! Volunteering at the Carnival is a fun and rewarding experience. Middle school and high school students that need community service hours, we will supply you the opportunity. We log all hours and provide verification for hours worked. Please visit our Volunteers tab or contact Manju Muralidharan for more information or to sign up.

Other Carnival Special Events & Info: We will have an array of delicious food, bbq items, pizza and more! We will have a Bake Sale Booth that allows parents to bring in their goodies wrapped in single-servings to sell and eat. We will also have a Cake Decorating Contest with winners for spookiest, cutest, and best decorated. The winning cakes will be on display at the Bake Sale Booth on Carnival day. The rest of the cakes will go to the Cake of Fortune--a tradition at Miramar Ranch.
